Come to the North Coast of Taiwan, then you can discover the original beauty of Taiwan, the beauty of scenery and the beauty of humanity.
Juming(1938-), born in Miaoli, is one of the most famous sculptor and artist in Taiwan. He was a talented sculptor and he became famous less than 20 years old. After the failure of his career, he decided to be an artist and created many famous works. In 2002, Les editions Cercle d’Art launched Juming’s sculpture album. Les editions Cercle d’Art is an influential art book publisher in Europe and America which has published many works of contemporary art history, art criticism and important artists. Juming is the first Chinese sculptor listed among them. In this museum, you can appreciate many master’s works and feel the meaning of his works.
Jinshan (Jinbaoli) Historical Street(金山老街/金包里老街)
Jinshan historical street used to be a commercial old street in the Qing Dynasty which has quite intensive commercial activities. The street exists for about 300 years. There are still some old stone houses, some old-style shops and some Japanese-style buildings on the street. The quail cakes, red sweet potatoes, egg rolls and other commodities are quite well known of this street. By the way, don’t forget to try some duck dishes here. It’s the characteristic of Jinshan.
Yehliu Geopark is famous for its sea-erosion landscape. The rock landscape of Yehliu Geopark is one of most famous wonders in the world. The coastal line is stretching in a direction vertical to the layer and the structure line; besides, the influences caused by wave attack, rock weathering, earth movement and crustal movement all contribute to the formation of such a rare and stunning geological landscape. There are three areas in this Geo-park. You may see the Queen’s Head, Dragon’s Head Rock, and etc. Since the area is near the coast, rocks that develop into four different kinds of formations can be seen in this area: elephant rock, fairy’s shoe, earth rock and peanut rock. The aforementioned are parts of the layers featuring special shapes as a result of being corroded by sea water.

Fugueijiao Lighthouse/Tapin lighthouse/Cape Hoek lighthouse(富貴角燈塔)
The Fuguijiao Lighthouse, completed in 1897, has a black and white parallel stripe outlook. It is the northernmost lighthouse in Taiwan. This lighthouse is the first lighthouse built by Japanese in Taiwan. The lighthouse was once a full white lighthouse. To keep the boats and cruises away from danger and lost, it then turned into black and white parallel stripe outlook.
