About Happiness – Pizza & Coffee is a glasshouse cafe with a beautiful green garden. It’s a family-friendly restaurant open only on weekends and holidays. Besides the tranquil environment and a huge lawn with lush grass, there’s also a sandpit for kids to play and burn off energy. It’s also a pet-friendly establishment! They offer handmade wood-fired pizzas, wood-fired chicken wings, wood-fired sweet potatoes, coffee, afternoon tea, and fried platters. The handmade wood-fired pizzas, in particular, come in a variety of flavors, with unique East-West fusion options that are highly praised. It’s hard to get a table during meal times, so reservations are recommended.

Lake Monster Coffee

Lake Monster Coffee has garnered much attention since its opening. Its Japanese retro style is highly talked about, and with the added popularity from the filming of the popular TV show “Hi! Working!”, it has consistently been a popular cafe at Sun Moon Lake. The old Japanese wooden house and tatami seating create a nostalgic atmosphere that is perfectly executed. Shiba Coffee Scenic Restaurant

Shiba Coffee Scenic Restaurant is located in the camping area next to the Sun Moon Lake Ropeway Station. It’s themed around adorable Shiba Inu dogs, with many Shiba decorations starting from the entrance. There’s even a Shiba gashapon machine near the counter – it’s incredibly cute! The main restaurant is a glasshouse with both indoor and outdoor seating. Pets are allowed inside as long as they are on a leash. The menu includes mini hot pots, freshly baked pizzas, curry rice, snacks, waffles, and various drinks. The dessert counter also offers a selection of limited daily cakes. The resident dog is a lively and adorable Shiba Inu, making this a recommended spot for friends traveling with their furry companions.

Kanei coffee

Nestled in the forest seclusion of Sun Moon Lake, Kanei Coffee is a Japanese Showa-era style “meikyoku kissa” (classic music cafe). Located after a stroll through the forest path of Kanei Spring Farm, you’ll be greeted by a garden full of blooming cherry blossoms, a large pond with fish behind the house surrounded by bald cypress trees – a seemingly mysterious paradise that displays its unique colors with each season. They use natural spring water to make their drinks, giving their medium-dark roast coffee beans an added sweetness. The cafe plays retro vinyl records, and the wooden architecture and simple design naturally bring in the Showa ambiance. The indoor space is small, but the outdoor gazebo seating offers different scenic views. The lazy and relaxing atmosphere will make you fall deeply in love with this place.

Zhu Le Cafe is a highly popular reservation-only cafe in Nantou.
