Fishful Seafood (魚夫子海鮮餐廳), Taoyuan
For a seafood feast that’s both affordable and top-quality, Fishful Seafood in Taoyuan is a local favorite. The restaurant is spacious, offering private rooms; recommended dishes include stir-fried cabbage with sakura shrimp, garlic jumbo prawns, salt & pepper calamari, kung pao century eggs, sailfish sashimi, crispy fried oysters, farm chicken, sizzling beef tenderloin, and garlic-marinated pork. Ba-Er Qinshi (八二親食), Hsinchu
Ba-Er Qinshi specializes in stone-pot rice noodles, offering flavors like Japanese kelp, herbal, golden kimchi, peeled chili, and stir-fried mala spice. WenDao Ancient Flavors (溫叨古早味料理餐廳), Taichung
For a unique, heritage-style dining experience, WenDao Ancient Flavors offers seating in a traditional three-sided courtyard setting. Located in Shanhua, Tainan, LA Fashion Sichuan Cuisine blends spicy Sichuan flair with creative twists to suit Taiwanese palates. The contemporary Chinese-style interior works well for family gatherings or smaller banquets. For a real treat, try one of their two roast duck sets: “Set A” features classic Peking duck slices, signature duck-in-hot-pot, spicy mala soup, and black pepper duck pastry; “Set B” includes a sweet-plum duck, “Sichuan-style duck,” sour fish & duck soup, and shredded radish duck wraps.
