You’ve likely heard of the stock exchange—but what about an alcohol exchange? Tucked inside the newly opened Taipei Dome in 2024, you’ll find Sports Nation, an innovative sports-themed eatery by Golden Village (金色三麥). Let’s take a closer look at what’s tasty, and fun, and why it’s known as the “Electronic Alcohol Exchange”!
Taipei Bar|Sports Nation: The Electronic Alcohol Exchange
Unique Environment at Sports Nation

When you step inside Sports Nation, you’ll be drawn to a huge electronic price ticker—a “stock board” for drinks! In this bright, spacious venue, a large curved display lists a variety of beers, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages with constantly fluctuating prices. The concept is straightforward: if fewer people buy a particular drink, its price goes down; popular drinks increase in price as demand rises. This is the first of its kind in Taiwan—an inventive new take on bar culture.

Sports Nation Events & Live Performances

Since it’s located inside the Taipei Dome, Sports Nation is closely tied to sporting events. Everywhere you look, large screens broadcast live games, and some semi-private booth areas come with dedicated TVs—perfect for groups of friends who want a VIP sports-viewing experience. There’s also a DJ booth between the seating area and the tickerboard. At night, you might catch a live DJ session that really ramps up the excitement.

Must-Try Dishes at Sports Nation

More than just a novelty setting, Sports Nation offers a diverse menu. Ideal for sharing with friends are the seafood platter, pork ribs, and assorted fried snacks. For something adventurous, try the “Exploding Giant Dome”—a massive, dome-shaped filet mignon patty hiding a runny soft-boiled egg inside. Cut it open, and watch the gooey yolk flow out, guaranteed to impress any crowd!

Since Sports Nation is part of the Golden Village (金色三麥) group, you can also enjoy classic Golden Village platters and their signature “All-Around Pepper” Fried Chicken Wings. Craving a more substantial meal? There are pasta and risotto options. Trying to keep it healthy? They also offer salad bowls and veggie Buddha bowls—so there’s truly something for everyone.
Recommended Drinks at Sports Natio

Upon entering Sports Nation, you’ll receive a drink card that you tap at any of the self-serve beer and cocktail taps to pour your beverage of choice. The menu spans on-tap beer, cocktails, and soft drinks. We highly recommend the Earl Grey Cocktail, a whiskey-based drink that carries layers of tea aroma without being overpowering.

For those who like sweet-and-sour, the Golden Pomelo Gin & Soda or the mildly sweet Rose Daiquiri are popular picks. Guys can explore the wide range of beers, or try the winter melon whiskey or classic Mojito. Prefer to skip the alcohol? They also have multiple kombucha and sparkling drink options, plus healthy choices like green smoothies and fruit-based shakes.
