Whenever I visit a café, I love to observe the surroundings and interior design. Recently, it’s been trendy for cafés to adopt an “old house” or industrial style, transforming old buildings into unique spaces. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find a café near Taipei’s Zhongshan Station that resembles an “art museum.” Upon closer look, I discovered it was a new location of Fujin Tree Café, originally famous in Minsheng Community!

Opening a café in Taipei’s bustling Zhongshan District is quite a challenge due to the heavy competition. But after visiting Fujin Tree Café, I realized they have nothing to worry about! Located on the first floor of a building designed by a Japanese architect, the café itself looks like a large piece of art from afar. With floor-to-ceiling windows that let natural light stream in, every seat feels bright and warm, creating a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.

The interior is primarily white, creating a clean, minimalist feel that pairs beautifully with wooden furniture and green plants. It exudes a distinct Japanese café vibe, instantly making you feel like you’ve stepped into an artsy space! Although seating is limited to about 20 people, there are now additional outdoor seats, offering a surprisingly “chill” vibe when seated on the street.

There’s no time limit on dining at Fujin Tree Café, so guests are free to stay as long as they’d like. Their latte series, with rich, creamy milk paired perfectly with coffee, is particularly popular. For non-milk drinkers, they also offer a variety of hand-brewed single-origin coffees. When it comes to dessert, their pudding and fruit sandwiches are must-tries.

Usually, when heading to Zhongshan Station, I’d wander the alleys of Chifeng Street. But why not step onto the main street and see how this building connects with the urban landscape, creating a comfortable public space? Since Fujin Tree Café doesn’t take reservations or enforce a time limit, if you’re looking for a cozy spot to relax in Taipei or to chat with friends, make sure to arrive early to avoid a long wait!
